Last updated April 2026. Cnfrmd is committed to responsible SMS messaging and the protection of your clients data. If you are a sole trader or freelancer, this page explains your obligations in plain English.

SMS COMPLIANCE (TCPA & CTIA)

Cnfrmd is a platform for sending appointment reminders to clients who have provided prior express consent to receive SMS messages from your business. As the business owner using Cnfrmd, you are the sender of record and are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable messaging laws, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) in the US.

What this means for you:

• You must obtain explicit written or verbal consent from each client before sending them an SMS via Cnfrmd.
• Consent is typically obtained at the point of booking via a checkbox stating the client agrees to receive SMS appointment reminders from your business.
• You must honour opt-out requests immediately. Cnfrmd handles STOP replies automatically and blocks that number from all future sends.
• Messages should clearly identify your business name and the purpose of the message.
• Reminders are transactional messages and are held to a lower consent threshold than marketing messages. Cnfrmd does not support marketing blasts.

OPT-OUT HANDLING

Cnfrmd automatically handles the following opt-out keywords: STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT. When a client replies with any of these words they are immediately removed from all future SMS sends. This cannot be overridden.

Clients can re-subscribe at any time by replying START. You will be notified of all opt-outs in your dashboard.

PRIVACY POLICY

We collect only the information necessary to provide the Cnfrmd service including your account details and the appointment data you enter.

• We use client phone numbers solely to send reminders on your behalf. We never contact your clients for any other reason.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data or your clients data with any third parties, except as required by law or to operate the service.
• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest using AES-256.
• You may export or delete all your data at any time by contacting support@confrmd.co.

DATA RETENTION

We retain appointment records for 12 months to support analytics and dispute resolution. After 12 months records are permanently deleted. SMS delivery logs are retained for 90 days.

TERMS OF SERVICE

By using Cnfrmd you agree not to use the service to send unsolicited messages, spam, or messages to individuals who have not consented. Violations may result in immediate account suspension. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of Cnfrmd complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction.
